South Carolina Chapter President, Dexter W. J. Davis, recently visited U.S. Congressman, Jim E. Clyburn (D-S.C.).  One of the most influential Democrats on Capitol Hill, Clyburn is the third-ranking Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives and former Majority Whip. He recently announced he will become the House Assistant Democratic Leader in the next session of Congress in 2023.  Congressman Clyburn is a native of Sumter and has been representing South Carolina’s sixth congressional district since 1993.
